What makes a
good neighborhood? In this presentation we have examined the part of the
answer that involves the physical elements we can see. This means the neighborhood is
well-designed, people from all walks of life are able to find a place to
live, and it’s safe and pleasant to walk or ride a bike as well as
drive. In addition, it’s possible to
shop for our essentials of daily life, there are green spaces to enjoy, jobs
are nearby and new development fits in with what’s there already. When these pieces are present then a
neighborhood is a living place, a place we want to be. It’s worth the effort to do it right.
